Buying groceries

Convenience stores

There are small grocery stores all around Caen; the two really popular ones are “Carrefour City” and “Coccinelle Market.” Between the two, I prefer Carrefour, but they’re basically the same. Shopping here regularly can get expensive, so I advise you to look toward the bigger stores.

Big grocery stores

  1. Monoprix is right downtown (next to the theatre & post office).
  2. Carrefour Caen can be easily reached by the T2 tram line and is close to Campuses 2 & 4.
  3. Carrefour Hérouville is technically located in a suburb next to Caen, but it may be easier for you based on where you’re living. You can get there by going to the end of the T1 line.
